Dieck Elementary: NEW Arrival & Dismissal Procedures
Dieck has a new drop-off/pick-up line and bus loop this year. Please review the attached maps before Monday and help us keep arrival and dismissal safe and moving smoothly.
🚗 MORNING DROP-OFF
Enter from the south driveway off Van Vleet Road.
Follow the RED route through the front parking lot.
The drop-off line is DROP AND GO.
Stay in your vehicle while in the drop-off line.
Have students ready to exit when you reach the designated drop-off area.
If your child needs extra time or assistance, please park in a designated parking space and walk them to the appropriate area.
Early 5s/Kindergarten: Meet their teacher or Student Support Professional near the flagpole.
Grades 1–2: Enter through the main entrance.
Grades 3–5: Enter through the north-end doors.
🚌 BUS ARRIVAL
Buses will use the new north bus loop.
The bus loop is BUSES ONLY.
Cars should never enter, park or stop in the bus loop.
🚗 AFTERNOON PICK-UP
Enter from the south driveway off Van Vleet Road.
Follow the RED route through the front parking lot.
Stay in your vehicle and remain in the pick-up line.
Students will be brought to the designated pick-up area.
Please do not park or leave your vehicle while in the pick-up line.
If you need additional time or need to leave your vehicle, please use a designated parking space.
Grades 3–5 will move to the main entrance area for vehicle pick-up.
🚌 BUS DISMISSAL
Bus students will be walked to the north bus loop.
Students will board their assigned buses there.
Please keep the bus loop clear of all other vehicles.

Need more time? Park in a designated space.
Never park or stop in the bus loop.
Follow posted signs and staff directions.
Do not use the overflow parking area during school hours due to recess, except for announced special events.
Please allow a little extra time during the first few days as everyone learns the new routine.
Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we get our new traffic pattern up and running. A few extra minutes and a little patience will go a long way toward keeping all of our Dragons safe!

The first day of the 2026–2027 school year is Monday, August 31, and we can’t wait to welcome our students back! Please remember that Monday is a half-day, with students attending in the afternoon.

Swartz Creek High School
Doors open: 11:00 a.m.
School hours: 11:16 a.m.–2:20 p.m.
Swartz Creek Middle School
Doors open: 11:00 a.m.
School hours: 11:26 a.m.–2:30 p.m.
Elementary Schools
Doors open: 12:20 p.m.
School hours: 12:30–3:25 p.m.
Beginning Tuesday, September 1
Students may enter their buildings at the following times each day:
High School: 7:00 a.m.
Middle School & VLC: 7:15 a.m.
Elementary Schools: 8:15 a.m.
We Want to See Your First-Day Photos!
We’ve created a new First Day of School 2026–2027 sign featuring our CREEK Code, and we’d love to see our Dragons with it!
Save the attached sign and print it for your child to hold in their first-day photo.
No printer? No problem! Save the sign to your phone or computer and add it to the first-day picture you take.
Then email your photo to mcorbat@swcrk.org with your child’s first name, and we will feature it on our district Facebook page.
Whether it’s a very first day of school, the start of senior year, or somewhere in between, we’re excited to have our Dragons back together.

Care for Dieck, Syring & Gaines students is located at Syring Elementary. Dieck and Gaines students will shuttle to and from Syring for care.
⭐ A few important reminders:
• Weekly schedules are due Thursdays by 5 PM
• Please make sure transportation is set up correctly
• When scheduling, choose the school your child ATTENDS
• Families using PM care should notify Little Dragons if their child will not be attending

The first day of school is almost here! As we prepare to welcome our Dragons back on Monday, August 31, each of our schools has put together a back-to-school newsletter filled with important information to help families prepare for the new school year.
We encourage you to carefully read through the newsletter for your child’s school, as each contains important building-specific information, dates, reminders, procedures, and other details you’ll want to know before the first day.

We know there is a lot of information to take in as a new school year begins, and these newsletters are a great place to start.
We’re looking forward to seeing our Dragons back in our buildings on August 31 and to a great 2026–2027 school year!
Back-to-school season is here, and we are getting excited to welcome our Dragons back!
The first day of school is Monday, August 31, and it will be a half-day PM schedule for all students:
SCHS: 11:16 AM–2:20 PM
SCMS & VLC: 11:26 AM–2:30 PM
Elementary: 12:30–3:25 PM
As we get closer to the first day, here are a few things families can do now to help make the transition as smooth as possible:
Ease Into the Routine: Start shifting bedtimes and wake-up times now. Getting back into a steady routine can make those first school mornings much easier.
Practice Lunch Skills: For our younger Dragons, practice opening lunch containers, snack packages, and water bottles. Those little skills help build confidence and independence.
Keep School Supplies Simple for Now: General elementary and middle school supply lists are available on our website by grade level. We recommend sticking with the basics for now, such as pencils, notebooks, folders, and highlighters. Save your receipts and wait until Open House or until your child’s teacher shares classroom-specific needs before purchasing too much. High school families should wait until classes begin and teachers share what students will need for each course.
Talk It Through: Talk with your child about what the school day might look like. A little preparation can go a long way toward easing nerves and building excitement.
Label Everything: Backpacks, jackets, water bottles, lunchboxes—if it’s heading to school, putting your child’s name on it can help make sure it finds its way home!
Early 5s & Kindergarten Families: Parents will attend with their child on the first day from 1:00–2:00 PM for a special welcome. More information will be mailed to families with classroom placement letters.
Schedule Pick Up & Open Houses
Several important back-to-school events are coming up, including High School Schedule Pick Up on August 20, Middle School Schedule Pick Up and Open Houses on August 27, and the High School Open House on September 8. See attached graphic for details.
As we get closer to August 31, watch for school-specific communication from your child’s building with additional information you’ll need for a great start to the year, including elementary classroom placement letters.
We can’t wait to fill our classrooms and hallways with Dragons again. Enjoy these last few weeks of summer, and we’ll see you soon!
